Enjoy our Normandy holiday home in Champ du Boult near Vire. From this cottage for two you can play golf at Vire, go cycling, indulge at great Normandy restaurants and bird-watch at Lake Dathee. Mont St Michel, D-Day sites, Bayeux, Normandy beaches and other Normandy attractions are not far away.

This little cottage for two near Vire, with one double bedroom, is in a hamlet in the beautiful ‘bocage’ country of southern Calvados. The ‘bocage’ is the rolling, green landscape of narrow lanes and fields that gave the D-Day Allies' tanks trouble in Normandy in 1944.

Normandy life is rather like Britain was 30 years ago. And many who stay here say they sleep like they used to do 30 years ago too! The air is so fresh and clean.

This holiday accommodation is rural but not isolated with a little grocery store  just a mile away.

There are many Normandy attractions to explore:

Walk, ride, fish, bird-watch or wind-surf at near-by Lake Dathee: from this Normandy villa you can play golf at Vire on the lake-side 18 hole course. With the St Sever National Forest on our doorstep, walking in Normandy is a pleasure. Taste cheese, cider or Calvados: enjoy cycling and bird-watching Normandy style.

We have had  a Barn Owl's nest for four succesive years. In springtime the hedgerow flowers are wonderful and summer brings many different butterflies and birds. Mont St Michel, Bayeux, Avranches, the coast to the west with its sandy beaches, promenades and fine seafood, and D-Day sites and museums beckon.

Visit the National Stud in St. Lo, the Mont St. Michel manuscripts in Avranches, miniature railway at Clecy, William 1's castle at Falaise and take a day trip to Jersey from Granville. Or you can just relax in our Normandy rental accomodation.
